WHY POETRY?
Writing poems is the best way to
express our feelings and emotions that we keep in our hearts. In addition, it
makes you feel relax and it drives you to a deep peace because we can release
our thoughts and share them with others.
I have been writing poems since I
was sixteen years old, and it has supposed to me an important change in my
life. Everything started when I first fell in love with a girl, I did not dare
to tell her how I felt so I decided to write down my feeling in a paper. Then,
I discovered some poets who influenced to me such as Becquer and later Neruda.
On the other hand, I also began to listen the lyrics of the songs not only the
sound; in that sense I found out some singer-songwriters like Maná. Most people
usually identify poetry with love and it is not totally true because poems can
cover many topics, like for example poets from “La Genereación del 27”. In
fact, I not only write poems about love, my friends also raise big feelings in
me.
Poetry is used for dispelling the
sadness and isolation and you express your own feelings with total honesty
because you are talking to yourself, so in this situation the lie does not have
any place. Writing poems is useful in many ways but it is mainly an instrument
for looking on ourselves. A person who writes poems matures faster because he
expresses what he feels of another way that most people are used to sense. On
the other hand, not only writing poetry is good for you but reading it, when
you read poems you break out and you move to other person’s experience, and you
sometimes feel identify with him.
I encourage you to try writing
poems or writing a diary with your feelings, emotions, experience and thoughts.
I think it will help you to release and know more about yourselves. It is the
best way to try to solve your problems, listening to yourself.
Here you can find some of my verses:
Solo quiero que me quieras
sin dañarme ni arrancarme
necesito que me huelas
solo tú hasta enamorarte.
Tengo ganas de sorprenderte
de besarte y abrazarte,
tengo ganas de quedarme
contigo hasta enamorarme.
Hi Miguel!!
ResponderEliminarI find the topic of your post really interesting. Poetry is something that we are taught in class since our childhood, but if you do feel the poetry inside you all this poetry knowledges is useless .
I really admire your facility to create such beautiful verses, not everyone is able to do, including myself.
I would like to talk of poetry in the classroom. Poetry for the children, because although we do not want, poetry accompanies us every day.
The world of children is poetic and often inadvertently emerge from their little lips verses full of pace.
When children start primary school are developing their language. Our goal is to relate this learning with ludic games: wordplay, rhymes ...
The nursery rhyme well selected for this stage of development of the language is essential, and enriches other language to achieve long-term objectives, such as:
- Learning new words
- Listen attentively
- Acquire security
- Discover verbal ways to express feelings
- Recognize your own voice
And finally, I would like to show you a web with all the advantages of teaching children poetry and nursey rhymes:

In my opinion, you will be a good language teacher =)
I really enjoy your post!!
